Here's where Royal Roads made headlines this week: 

• The Conversation published an article by Ann-Kathrin McLean, assistant professor, and Moira McDonald, associate professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management, with Carina Yao, Master of Global Management student, and Thomas Worry, Master of Arts in Tourism Management student, about public attitudes toward zoos shifting as awareness about ecological protection and animal welfare grows.  

• Education News Canada published a story about Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management student Oscar Vicente, who recently won the Disaster Recovery Institute of Canada’s 2025 Student Award and Scholarship.

• A collaborative research project with the Resilience by Design Lab at RRU, led by Environment and Sustainability Professor Robin Cox, and Maldives National University to develop a climate change and environmental sustainability framework was featured in Education News Canada.  

• Professor of Business Frances Jorgensen’s recent research about the effectiveness of safety interventions for health-care workers was featured in Education News Canada.
