• At Royal Roads’ Spring 2025 Convocation ceremonies, President Philip Steenkamp advocated for longform reading, writing, learning and teaching as opposed to short media and quick gratification. Part of his speech was included in a University Affairs round-up of the cultural temperature of Canadian Universities currently. 

• Academica Group covered RRU recently signing the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment, joining institutions around the globe that are dedicated to improving the evaluation of researchers and research outputs.
