Royal Roads University has launched a new way to celebrate the RRU alumni community: The Alumni Changemaker Achievement Awards.

From successful self-starter entrepreneurs to passionate climate leaders, skilled emergency management experts, educators and lifelong learners, Royal Roads University alumni are changemakers through and through.

RRU alumni deserve to be celebrated for the care, creativity and courage they bring to communities around the world.

“The Royal Roads alumni community are some of the most impressive people I’ve met, in terms of their vast array of accomplishments and how profoundly they care about their impact on the world,” says Philip Steenkamp, president and vice-chancellor of RRU. “They certainly deserve to be celebrated and honoured.”

“Every time I speak with an alum, I’m blown away by their achievements and how they are impacting their communities in incredible ways,” says Jennifer Smith, alumni relations manager at Royal Roads.

“They don’t do it for the accolades – our alumni are passionate about their work and transforming the world,” says Smith. “But we want to showcase that amazing work and demonstrate what our alumni changemakers are capable of.”

All RRU alumni and graduates of the former Royal Roads Naval, Tri-Services and Military Colleges, are also eligible to be nominated. Everyone is welcome to submit a nomination.

ACAA recipients will be celebrated as part of RRU’s annual Alumni Weekend, which takes place the first weekend of May each year.
