Huber on mindful information sharing

Royal Roads Assoc. Faculty and weekly Times Colonist columnist Charla Huber discusses the importance of thinking critically and recognizing not everything you’ve been told about “dangerous” places may be true, as racism can be  taught at all ages.

Here is an excerpt:

“We need to be mindful of ­information we are given, and more importantly, information we share with others,” says Huber. “Racism is something that is taught. Most of the time, when we talk about ­racism being taught, I assume it is to young children. Hearing how a ­foreign exchange student was introduced to Indigenous people in Canada was ­disturbing.”
