Prof. Robin Cox shared her thoughts on the flooding and landslides that have gripped BC recently on CBC’s BC Today with Michelle Eliot during the Special Broadcast: What can be done to help those who are struggling to recover from flooding.

Here is some of what she had to say:

“In disaster management, we talk about lessons learned, but lessons are only learned when they are applied and, whether its COVID or natural hazards related to disasters such as what we just experienced, we tend to reflect on learnings and not apply those learnings fully in what we do and I think we’ve seen that here with this current situation.”
