Connecting Campus and Community: Perks Program Launches in Langford
The City of Langford has partnered with the new John Horgan Campus to launch a Campus Perks program, an exciting new initiative that offers exclusive discounts at Langford businesses to students, faculty, and staff. Discounts are available to local gyms, cafés, restaurants, shops, and more.
Designed to enhance wellness, support, and community connection, the John Horgan Campus Perks program features an online directory of participating businesses, each offering special deals to the campus community of students, faculty, and staff. Businesses receive a window decal to showcase their involvement, and campus members can redeem offers by presenting their campus ID.
“The John Horgan Campus Perks program makes life more affordable for students, faculty, and staff while strengthening the connection between our local businesses and the campus community,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford. “By working together, we’re building a vibrant community that supports education, wellness, and economic growth.”
“Royal Roads welcomes this exciting opportunity to engage with the local business community in Langford,” says Philip Steenkamp, President and Vice-Chancellor of Royal Roads University. “This program will provide tangible benefits to our students, while strengthening the local economy.”
The program was developed by City staff after Royal Roads University approached the City of Langford to explore ways to enhance campus life. The campus was intentionally designed to integrate with Langford’s vibrant downtown, which offers options for recreation, food and beverage, and services for students. Aligned with Council’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan to actively support the evolution of the downtown post-secondary campus, the John Horgan Campus Perks program connects campus members with the local business community.
Businesses interested in joining the program may do so by completing a simple application form at Langford.ca/Campus.
