The program transformed how I approach my classroom and instructional practice.

“I have been teaching for over seven years at the secondary level; as a science, PE, math, and now social sciences teacher.

My undergraduate studies were completed at a different university, and my initial experience in post-secondary education left me disillusioned by the whole process. It was repetitive, not set in the real world, and frankly, inconsistent with our understanding about learning (i.e. very little participation, mostly lectures, not a lot of feedback). My experience at RRU was much better: the content is relevant, the instructors are knowledgeable and made great efforts to develop realistic and useful assignments, and my overall on-campus experience was great.

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management program has helped me transform my beliefs and philosophies, and provided a variety of perspectives about leadership. I now have a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for becoming a successful and competent leader, as well as a network of personal and professional contacts to turn to for help and guidance throughout my career.”
