Harley Eagle

Harley Eagle is of the Dakota/Ojibway First Nations, enrolled in the Whitecap Dakota First Nations Reserve, in Saskatchewan, Canada. Since September 2014, he has lived in Courtenay, BC, with his partner Sue and two daughters and works with Island Health as a Cultural Safety Facilitator. Previously they lived in Winnipeg, MB, where he was the national co-coordinator of Indigenous Work for Mennonite Central Committee Canada. Harley also has been a long time conflict management practitioner and contractor and holds a MA from Royal Roads University in Conflict Analysis and Management, as well as a Healing from Trauma certificate.
For over 20 years Harley has designed and facilitated workshops and activities that strive to recall and re-claim Indigenous understanding of life. For many years he has been a dismantling racism trainer/facilitator and more recently a contract instructor at the University of Winnipeg. Harley has had the opportunity to travel extensively and is often invited to present nationally and internationally at various conferences and organizations about issues pertaining to his work. Harley is pleased to have returned to Vancouver Island having previously resided in Port Hardy and Courtenay totaling over 20 years.
