The National Police Federation Benevolent Foundation (NPFBF) has established the Gordon Clarke Bursary which will be awarded annually to one student enrolled in post-secondary studies in the public safety field who has shown exceptional leadership, compassion and support for their community.

Eligibility

  1. One bursary to be awarded nationally per year – if there are no qualified applicants in a given year, the bursary will not be awarded for that year;
  2. The applicant must be enrolled or accepted to a post-secondary institution (i.e. university, college or polytechnical institute) in the field of public safety prior to the scholarship being awarded;
  3. The applicant must write an essay of not less than 1000 words explaining how they have shown exceptional leadership, compassion and support for their community;
  4. Applicants cannot be the children of any National Police Federation salaried employee. This does not include children of Local Area Representatives (LAR’s).
  5. Bursaries will be reviewed and awarded by a selection committee consisting of Directors and staff of the Benevolent Foundation.

How to apply

NPFBF will issue a call for submissions annually, no later than June 1, through the NPF’s social media channels and direct contact with post-secondary institutions across Canada.
