Exploring the relationship between management innovation, technological innovation and organizational resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic

Dr. Hassan Wafai received a SSHRC Institutional Grant to study Canadian SMEs that have developed organizational resilience through adopting innovations during the COVID-19 crisis.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has caused unprecedented impacts on businesses worldwide. Recently, there have been many calls to improve organizational resilience, reconfigurability and responsiveness (e.g. Free & Hecimovic, 2020; WEF, 2020b). This proposal aims at examining the relationship between management innovation, technological innovation, and organizational resilience. The proposal focuses on Canadian SMEs that have developed resilience through adopting innovations during the COVID-19 crisis. It is anticipated that the research addresses a well-identified gap in the literature and contributes to advancing our understanding of organizational resilience.
