Humans Behaving Badly: Building a Culture of Trust

Professional and Continuing Studies invites you to join us for a conversation with Kellie Garrett PCC, ICD.D, CDWF, executive coach and a board director, as we ask our own questions about the topic, including the challenges and biases we face every day.

Many leaders view internal politics as unsavoury at best and unethical at worst. Learning how to make peace with the concept and ethically navigating organizational politics is an important competency for all leaders, especially those who strive to be – or who already are – executives.

Politics and power are actually neutral, it's what you do with them that counts. Your relationship with both drives how well you can navigate organizational politics and interact with powerful people. Politics exist in every organization, every family, every community and even in friendship circles. The name of the game is to play politics in a fair manner. You can't influence effectively if you ignore politics and power. All three are key competencies as you rise through the ranks.

Learn how to marry integrity with political savvy and increase trust-building behaviours in order to dramatically increase your influence as a leader.
