Join us on Earth Day for this campus stewardship and cleanup event!

Meet us outside the Boathouse at noon on April 22nd. Dr. Jonathan Moran will start us off with an overview of the ecology and significance of the lagoon and then we'll head off in small teams to remove litter from the shoreline. This event is open to staff, students and faculty.

The Esquimalt Lagoon whose shoreline Royal Roads rests upon, is a thriving ecosystem and traditional gathering place for Indigenous families. The lagoon is home to incredible marine life and is also designated a National Migratory Bird Sanctuary. It's an incredible place and we'd love your help to remove any litter that has washed up, blown over or been dropped on the shore.

Please dress for the weather and bring gloves if you have some. We'll take care of buckets and have some extra gloves on hand. This event is supported by RRU’s Healthy Planet Club and the WWF Go Wild grant.

Sign up below so we know how many will be joining us to kick off Earth Week at RRU.
