Royal Roads University welcomes Dr. Sonia Kang, Canada Research Chair in Identity, Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Toronto, to lead a presentation and workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 23: Confronting Anti-Asian Racism in Academia and Beyond.

Anti-Asian racism and violence are on the rise, particularly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This workshop will explore the roots and experience of anti-Asian racism and provide a forum for discussion around participants' experiences with this form of racism at Royal Roads.

Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of the current research and statistics on anti-Asian racism in academia and beyond, as well as evidence-based solutions for confronting it and working towards its elimination.

This session is open to Royal Roads staff, faculty and students. Check your Royal Roads email for the Zoom link or contact Deborah Zornes at the Office of Research.
