Individuals who are able to see the big picture, make new connections, and work between disciplines and professions are needed as we navigate complex social and environmental issues.

The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (BAIS) program allows you to combine courses in professional communication, environmental practice, justice studies, and business to create a unique degree that aligns with your personal and professional goals, and supports you to become a changemaker in your community.

Join us on June 17 for a webinar about this highly customizable program. Hosted by program head and professor, Dr. Shelley Jones, this session will provide you with information about the program and application requirements as well as an opportunity to ask questions. You will also hear the first-hand experiences of the program from one of our graduates, Mark Bennett.

Meet Mark, a BAIS graduate

Mark Bennett has been employed with the BC Public Service for 11 years, and currently holds a position with the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction as a Senior Business Analyst.  While his career continues to offer challenges and growth opportunities, Mark has always been passionate about academic learning.  Having recently graduated from Royal Roads University (RRU) in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (BAIS), Mark has already had countless opportunities in his professional career to apply his academic knowledge. Specifically, the BAIS program at RRU allowed Mark to learn and develop necessary competencies in leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, global awareness and professional communication. Looking forward, Mark is planning to continue his academic studies by taking on a graduate program that will directly support his current role, as well as his career path with the Provincial Government.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the webinar recording.

Please note - the event time is 9-10 am, but your confirmation email may say differently. We are working on getting this issue fixed. Thank you!
