The Diana Beeson Memorial Award has been established to recognize Royal Roads' MA students graduating from the Professional Communication or Intercultural and International Communication programs in the School of Communication and Culture.

Eligibility

Diana Beeson was a formidable academic in the areas of writing and journalism. In respect for Diana's memory, each year one graduating student will be recognized with this award for having presented a thesis or research study demonstrating excellence of scholarship in either written or non-traditional form.

Candidates will be put forward by faculty in the School of Communication and Culture, with the final nominee selected by the School Director and endorsed by the Dean. Excellence will be determined by the degree to which the thesis  or research study demonstrates: critical professionalism; innovative and systems thinking; integration; leading change; leading learning; valuing diversity; fostering interdependence; and scholarship.

How to apply

The recipient will be nominated by faculty of the School of Communication and Culture and approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences. Awarded in November. All students who graduated since last November are included in consideration.
