David Ohana Okpi

David Ohana Okpi is a Board of Governors member elected by students, with a term from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026.

David has over nine years of experience in youth and social development. Most recently, he served as a Senior Social Welfare Officer with the Lagos State Government, where he contributed to policies and programs supporting children, youth, and vulnerable populations. He currently serves as a staff member at Royal Roads University and joined the Royal Roads University Board of Governors as Student elected member on November 1 2025.

David is a doctoral candidate with research interests in the global dimensions of child welfare and child abuse. He holds a master’s degree in Social Work, a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and a diploma in Personnel Management.

Originally from Cross River State, Nigeria, David is committed to fostering inclusive and equitable community initiatives. He values family life with his spouse, Mrs. Mogabil David, and their children, and is inspired by opportunities that promote learning, collaboration, and social well-being.
