Develops research skills using academic and technical journal sources. Evaluates sustainable tourism policy applied to tourism human resource strategies, community development and urban planning, destination marketing, and strategies for the organization and leadership of tourism planning initiatives. With the enormous growth and pace of change in tourism, governments, industry and communities need to be more strategic in their planning in order to maximize benefits while minimizing costs. Students will explore these issues on a regional, national and international scale.
