Students will learn about this historical and ongoing processes of settler colonialization in Canada, as well as the theoretical frameworks through which coloniality has been analyzed, particularly in educational systems. We will examine social location and consider how and where we are each situated within the ongoing settler colonial project. We will establish individual and collective goals for moving forward on a learning trajectory towards decolonizing systems and relationships. Focus will be on understanding how decolonizing of self is interconnected to decolonizing systems and relationships that include land, sea and sky.
