The Federal Government's research funding program for Doctoral research in health-related fields. Apply as early as the year before studies begin.
Eligibility
The Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Awards (CGS-D) program provides special recognition and support to students who are pursuing doctoral degree in a health-related field in Canada. Some CGS recipients may be considered for the honour of having their scholarship named a “Canada Graduate Scholarship to Honour Nelson Mandela”, should CIHR deem their application to be aligned with at least one of five themes championed by Mandela: national unity; democracy; freedom and human rights; leadership; children’s participation in society; and children’s health. All candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity.

Applications are submitted online. RRU will have access to review and recommend applications that will compete nationally for renewable awards valued up to $35,000/year for up to three years.
