Pending availability of funding, granted to domestic applicants of the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Business and Sustainability program, who are leaders in sustainability and community service.

Eligibility

In 2018, the BBA Sustainability Leadership Scholarship is granted, through competition, to ten applicants of Royal Roads University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business and Sustainability program, who have an outstanding record of sustainability leadership and community service.

This award is comprised of a $5,000 scholarship disbursed equally across four semesters ($1,250/semester), applied toward award recipients’ tuition fees. In order to qualify for ongoing eligibility, award recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrolment, good academic standing at a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50/4.33 at RRU, and no violations of the Academic Regulations and Student Rights and Responsibilities policies.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Have applied for admission to the current year’s intake of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Business and Sustainability.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada as of the award application deadline date.
  • Submit a 2-page, single spaced essay that clearly addresses the following points:
  1. Describe how you have shown leadership in environmental and social sustainability in your life, your school or profession, and your community. Provide specific examples including level of responsibility.
  2. Describe your goals as a leader of sustainability, and outline how you believe the BBA in Business and Sustainability would help you achieve your goals.
  3. Describe all school and community service (volunteer) roles that you have been involved in over the past five years, and indicate the number of hours volunteered in each role and level of responsibility.

Selection criteria

  1. Leadership in environmental and social sustainability (50%)
  2. Relevant goals (30%)
  3. Service (20%)

  • this Entrance Award is open to students who will be active in their program after the deadline date
  • pending the availability of funding, the application will be available from:
    • December 1, 2018 to February 1, 2019
    • March 1, 2019 to May 1, 2019
  • address eligibility in one two-page essay with your name in top margin
