Dr. Curtis Clarke is a distinguished public service leader with an extensive background in strategic policy development, organizational leadership, and educational innovation. Throughout his career in the Alberta Public Service, he has held critical senior executive roles, including Deputy Minister portfolios in Advanced Education, Education (K-12), and Solicitor General. His strategic leadership extended to key positions such as Assistant Deputy Minister of Alberta Correctional Services and Director of Cabinet Policy Coordination.
Internationally recognized for his expertise, Dr. Clarke served as vice-chair of the OECD Education Policy Committee Bureau, representing the Canadian Council of Ministers of Education. His governance experience spans multiple high-impact boards, including the Canadian Centre for Substance Use and Addictions, Mentor Canada and the National Police Sector Council.
Academically grounded with a PhD in Sociology from York University and graduate and undergraduate degrees from Queen's University, Dr. Clarke has further distinguished his executive capabilities through advanced programs at the Harvard Kennedy School, Stanford Executive Business School, and Cornell University. His educational background, combined with comprehensive public service experience, positions him as a strategic advisor with deep insights into complex systemic challenges.
