Tabea Berg facilitates experiential learning and skill development for students, clients and colleagues with a service-orientated approach. With several years working in higher education, she has taught in a variety of disciplines. In more recent years, she has supplemented teaching with program and course development, research, and leadership within entrepreneurship and innovation education. Berg’s primary research interests lie in enhancing creative practice and productive innovation for individuals, teams and organizations, using innovation approaches such as creative problem solving (CPS) and design thinking. In 2013, Berg received a substantial grant from the Government of Alberta to study start-up companies’ access to financial capital within the province.

In private practice, Berg has worked with and advised leaders and business owners in multiple industries in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. She has helped develop business plans and creative strategies, largely expressed through formal written communications, including published manuscripts on the subject of leadership (research, ghost-writing and co-writing). Alongside her practice and before starting in post-secondary education, she was editorial director at Company’s Coming Publishing, Ltd.

She has engaged in further education and training in Indigenous studies, educational psychology, family business, and creativity and innovation (creative problem solving and design thinking). She is certified to administer the Basadur Applied Creativity Profile.
