Leadership Studies

Elizabeth Cordeau-Chatelain is a PCC Certified Executive Coach and CMHA-Certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor whose purpose is to coach and support Canada’s current and future leaders in public, private and academic settings, and facilitate learning conversations around values-based and transformational leadership. Elizabeth is also a doctoral candidate at Royal Roads University, exploring executive commitment to psychological health and safety in the workplace. Borne out of lived experience in prior senior leadership roles, her research is grounded in Edgar Schein’s model of how leaders affect workplace organizational cultures, particularly what they pay attention to, role model, promote, reward, create as systems, and believe, with a research question asking what combination of nature, nurture and circumstance contributes to executives’ acceptance and creation of psychologically safe workplaces in Canada.

Experience

Elizabeth possesses over 30+ years in progressively senior leadership role in global corporate communications, marketing, employee engagement and stakeholder relations. Prior to returning to her beloved Vancouver, Elizabeth led diverse, cross-functional teams across Canada and around the world, holding senior corporate communications and employee engagement positions in international energy, professional services, retail and high tech, most recently in Paris, France. Fluently bilingual in English and French, Elizabeth has been an international company spokesperson and media trainer, working closely with CEOs and other executives on corporate branding, executive messaging and profile-building, and community engagement activities. She is qualified to administer several assessment tools, including EQ-I and EQ360, Core Strengths, and the Barrett Values Model.
