Carol Gabanna’s practice is all about challenging and supporting clients to improve their performance – to do their work better than they think they can. She works from a core belief that everyone has strengths and every person has potential. She provides facilitation for meetings where results matter and clients can't afford to mess it up. Her coaching practice is focused on managers and board leaders.

She works with organizations to design and implement performance management systems, including training managers in performance management and communication skills. Carol has a deep interest that boards work better – that board members time and wisdom is used well, that organizations are governed well and that boards and CEOs are accountable. She consults with board and CEOs to teach them the Policy Governance® model and coach them in using it. She is co-author of The OnTarget Board Member: 8 Indisputable Behaviours and The Policy Governance Fieldbook.

Experience

To her coaching practice, Carol brings forty years in the public, not for profit and private sectors as employee, manager, CEO, senior executive and consultant, including twenty years in the health system. She now works as a governance consultant and executive coach with HR Atlantic, a human resource consulting firm in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Carol is a Professional Certified Coach and a Licensed Practitioner with Insights® Discovery.

Her wide experiences in and with organizations have given her a great perspective on how the organizations work, the challenges of managing staff, the excitement and pain of implementing change and the satisfaction of making a difference. She is currently a board member of the Canadian Centre for Accreditation.
