President Steenkamp: RRU celebrates Black History Month

Today marks the start of Black History Month in Canada – a dedicated time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black people in our community, across the country, and right here at Royal Roads. It's a moment to honor Black lives, legacies, and resistance and resilience, emphasizing the importance of learning and listening to Black stories.

In this week’s video message, Royal Roads students from Canada and around the world talk about what Black History Month means to them. They speak about the inclusion they feel in Canada and on campus, what makes them proud and what brings them joy. My great thanks to each of them for their courage, authenticity and willingness to share.
