This course introduces basic numeracy skills needed to understand, analyze, and work out numerical and quantitative problems related to business, finance, and quantitative research. It is considered a foundation course for Corporate and International Finance (MGMT560) and for Applied Research and Business Analytics (MGMT580). The course starts with a basic arithmetic review on numbers, fractions, roots, and rules of exponents. It then proceeds to discuss basic algebraic operations, linear equations, and other key fundamental statistical concepts. Upon completion of this course, students will acquire the following skills: -Demonstrate proficiency of mathematical concepts that are essential in business mathematics. -Demonstrate proficiency of mathematical concepts that are essential for quantitative analysis. -Understand basic statistical techniques that are essential for investment and finance. -Demonstrate ability to understand relevant financial applications.
