Why Planetary Health Matters
Why Planetary Health Matters is the first session in our From Local to Global Leadership webinar series.
For the first time in history, climate change is the result of human impacts. The field of planetary health recognizes human impacts not only on the environment but, specifically, the impacts that the exploitative practices initiated by colonialism and maintained by capitalism have on the planet's natural systems. Our human systems - political, economic, and social - shape the future of humanity as it is the Earth’s natural systems that determine the safe environmental limits within which humanity can flourish.
Hosted by RRU’s Master of Arts in Global Leadership, Dr. Wanda Krause and Dr. Guy Nasmyth explore the complexities of our current climate crisis and why planetary health matters.
