Rana Van Tuyl is a community development and organizational culture professional supporting the development of workplaces and communities to co-create places of psychological safety and belonging. With a multidisciplinary background in social sciences research, communication, management, community investment, and business administration, Rana is passionate about working alongside organizations to address complex systemic challenges. Her experience includes large matrixed organizations, emerging companies, small businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), acquisitions, and founding a social business — Celebrate Our Differences — inspired by her lived experiences as a second-generation Canadian.

Pursuing a doctorate in social sciences from Royal Roads University, Rana’s research interests embrace the connection between authentic inclusion, psychological safety, and communication to co-create places of belonging that enable people to participate more fully in workplace and learning environments. Rana holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University and was awarded a research grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Government of Canada for her thesis research on industrial safety and factors that present barriers to reporting workplace incidents and contribute to cultures of non-report.
