Student success is an important driver for Bell, whether working with K-12 or higher education students. Bell is dedicated to helping others achieve their academic goals by employing best practices in teaching adult learners. As a scholar-practitioner, Bell’s primary research is focused on using collaborative self-study to develop leaders, and how the leadership premium can be captured to shape and change organizations. Using the principles of strategic leadership and change management, she collaborates with the community as a whole to find solutions to complex issues.
Bell’s had a strong focus on literacy during her time as a certified teacher, and she held a variety of leadership positions, culminating as a school principal. In this capacity, Bell developed strong teaching teams dedicated to improving learning. Bell taught school leadership at the higher education level at Gonzaga University and Thompson Rivers University. She teaches in the Master of Education Administration and Leadership program at Royal Roads University.
Bell holds a Doctorate of Education specialising in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary (2014), a Master of Arts in Leadership and Administration from Gonzaga University (2007), a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University (2002) and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Thompson Rivers University (1996).
