Bio (Sandra Rogers)
Tourism and Hospitality Management
Sandra Rogers has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, having worked as an instructor, college administrator, course developer and curriculum designer. In her current capacity as an instructional designer at Royal Roads University, Rogers works closely with faculty to develop effective and engaging online learning environments. Research interests include: authentic learning and assessment, social media, web 2.0 applications, and tablet and mobile technology.
Prior to Royal Roads, Rogers was program head and the media department and faculty at Capilano College. She also teaches in the International Study Centre at Royal Roads. She has taught courses in: mobility, media and social networks, computer systems, educational media applications, new media literacy, project design, project development, digital media, animation, advanced interactive media, practicum, major projects and portfolio production.
Rogers holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in instructional media from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and a MEd in information technology from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
