Dr. Anthony Ojonimi Onoja is an associate professor of Resource and Environmental Economics, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and an Associate Fellow in the Faculty of Management, Royal Roads University. 

Onoja’s research is within the areas of agricultural project analysis/finance, applied econometrics, macroeconomics and climate change impacts on agri-value chains. Onoja is currently examining how best agribusiness enterprises can build resilience against global disrupters of global agrifood system value chains.

He is also investigating the relationship between climate-related innovations and impacts on green house gas emissions/total factor productivity in agriculture. Onoja has a rich professional experience working and consulting in various international donor organizations.

Experience

Onoja remains a tenure staff/researcher at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management in the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

He was a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of South Africa, Johannesburg and an editor of four referred international journals. He is also an Associate Fellow at the Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre, an EfD Centre at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. 

Onoja taught at Kogi State University from 2000-2008. He is an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Natural Resource, Environment and Sustainable Development at the University of Port Harcourt.

He has won several scholarships, fellowships and research grants and is on the Executive Board of the African Association of Agricultural Economics and President of the Agricultural Policy Research Network.

Onoja has received several professional awards and recognitions for his teaching and research. He is very competent in use of statistical and econometric software. He has numerous publications in referred journals, books and book chapters, and belongs to four professional organizations.
