When you’re surrounded by stories of failed businesses, leading to shattered dreams and broken relationships, it can be difficult to feel confident about taking that first leap into the start-up world.

Join us for a webinar on October 21 at 12 pm (PDT) featuring Dean Whibley, a Canadian-born entrepreneur who began playing in the entrepreneurial arena in his early twenties and knows well the highs and lows of running a business.

Hosted by Alumni Relations, Dean will discuss his experience as a serial entrepreneur and what has helped him overcome his fear of failure, one of the most limiting factors for start-up ideas, as well as explore the mistakes and pitfalls only experienced outside the classroom, and offer advice on how best to avoid them.

Dean is an entrepreneur, businessman, investor, husband and father of four. His latest company sold in 2018, marking his fourth business sale of a start-up. Three of these sales were to publicly traded companies with a total value exceeding $50 million. After decades in the sky and standing at the helm of numerous companies, Dean shares how his paragliding approach to business has helped him achieve a level of success that has enabled him to focus on his family, invest in worthwhile start-ups, and write about how to avoid making the mistakes he made along the way.
