Signing on to sustainable future

July 3, 2019

Royal Roads University School of Business has signed on to the United Nations-supported Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME).

PRME is the world’s largest voluntary initiative for academic institutions that seek to provide future business and management leaders with skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals.

School of Business Director Todd Thexton says it is a natural affiliation for the school.

“Social and environmental sustainability is at the heart of our Bachelor of Business Administration program, and social innovation and entrepreneurship is a common theme in our Bachelor of Commerce program,” says Thexton. “Combined with our Ashoka U Changemaker Campus status, it’s a demonstration our longstanding commitment to responsible management.”

The initiative will also provide Royal Roads business students with access to global teaching and research networks, challenges and internships. Royal Roads joins a network of 763 other post-secondary institutions worldwide that have signed the commitment.
