Inclusion by design: UDL conference at Royal Roads
The Pan-Canadian Conference on Universal Design for Learning comes to the Royal Roads University campus for its third installment from Oct. 2 to 4, 2019.
Universal Design Learning (UDL) is an educational framework based on scientific insight into how people learn. It improves teaching and learning for all people and promotes flexible learning environments that accommodate and optimize individual learning differences.
“The conference is an opportunity for UDL designers, practitioners and researchers from a wide variety of fields to share their expertise, introduce their projects and present research findings,” says inclusion specialist Dr. Frédéric Fovet, head of Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management at Royal Roads.
This year’s focus is “Connecting the Dots – Sharing Promising Practices Across Country.” A conference blog will be used during the event to facilitate dialogue and networking among participants, and provide open resources for the larger UDL community.
