Doctoral student on gay cops and Pride

Doctoral student and Master of Arts in Professional Communication alumnus Joe Couto wrote a column for the Toronto Star on how the exclusion of police officers from pride parades could leave gay cops divided between two worlds.

Here is an excerpt:

“My research focuses on the workplace experiences of LGBTQ police officers who are at the centre of the debate on whether police should be allowed to participate in Pride parades. The growing movement to exclude police can disenfranchise LGBTQ officers from their own communities,” wrote Couto.
