Maria Anderson

Maria Anderson is a student in both the Doctor of Social Sciences program and the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching program. Anderson is an information technology professional and consultant with 30 years in the field, including management and leadership experience in large organizations such as Suncor Energy and Encana Corp. Anderson is founder and CEO of Anderson Leadership Consulting, which provides executive coaching and leadership consulting to IT organizations. She is a past president and past board member of the Independent Oracle Users Group, an international IT association with more than 30,000 members. Anderson is a member of many professional leadership and IT organizations, including the International Leadership Association, International Positive Psychology Association, Canadian Positive Psychology Association, Canadian Information Processing Society, Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals and VIATEC - Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council. Anderson’s doctoral dissertation explores how leadership fosters individual and collective thriving within IT departments in higher education organizations. She was elected in October 2017 to serve as the student representative on the Royal Roads University Board of Governors. She holds a Master of Arts in Leadership (2015) from Royal Roads University.
