Jennifer Hillier holds a Master of Education from Athabasca University (2017) with a focus in Instructional Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Native Studies from Trent University (2007). Her professional background includes teaching English as a second language in South Korea; project management for the province of Alberta; training community literacy practitioners in adult learning; and instructional design for Department of National Defence. Hiller specializes in the development of instructional design for teaching and learning at a distance, including implementing teaching and learning strategies and working alongside content experts to make education accessible. Using adult learning theory and aspects of mobile technology, Hiller plans to focus her studies in the Doctor of Social Sciences program on instructional design as the essence that increases success in programs for adult learners.
