Webinar - Online Community Organizing and Coalition Leadership in a Pandemic
We believe in leadership that promotes community, collaboration, kindness, generosity, and optimism. Join us for Online Community Organizing and Coalition Leadership in a Pandemic, the fifth session in our Leading in Extraordinary Times webinar series.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on multiple local and global inequities based on income, gender, disability, and more. Even in a rich country such as Canada, we see serious differences in support and access to basic necessities such as education, housing, and health care. The common phrase, "we're all in this together," means that we're all experiencing a pandemic, yet our experiences of this pandemic are vastly different. For the past few months, community organizers and self-advocates Rebecca Pauls and others to be confirmed have been working to build coalitions and promote progressive policy change on the issues of homelessness and guaranteed access to treatment for people with disabilities. Join this webinar to learn more about their lessons learned, leadership strategies, and how they've achieved online success while social distancing and staying at home.
