In today’s changing world, managing risk is a key competency for tourism industry leaders. From wildfires and floods to pandemics and terrorism, hoteliers, and venue and destination managers must all understand their role, as well as the role of government to prepare for and respond to emergency situations. COVID-19 has shown the cracks in preparedness and the ability of the tourism industry to mount an effective response.

Join the School of Tourism and Hospitality director, Dr. Eugene Thomlinson and Master of Arts in Tourism Management (MATM) graduate, Jenn Houtby-Ferguson on October 29th for a webinar on our new MATM specialization in Disaster and Emergency Management. Eugene and Jenn will discuss how this specialization fits into the MATM program, and how tourism professionals can identify risk and take steps to mitigate the economic and brand impacts.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the webinar recording.
