Gary W. Hayes is a former television industry professional with eight years of experience producing, coordinating, camera assisting and field producing with Discovery Channel Canada. Hayes has traveled the world in numerous capacities alongside documentary filmmakers capturing epic journeys, powerful stories and stunning visuals of the mightiest ships, planes and trains. Hayes has also worked in the non-profit sector as a general manager for international volunteer-based service-learning programs in Jamaica and Nepal. He is a teaching assistant in Royal Roads University’s Master of Global Management program and has worked as a research assistant alongside Royal Roads University professor Dr. Wendy Rowe to study collective leadership factors contributing to the social and economic development of two villages in the remote Andes region of Ecuador. Hayes holds a Master of Arts in Global Leadership from Royal Roads (2018) and was the recipient of the SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship and the Michael Smith Foreign Supplement award for his capstone project: International Development: Collaboration & Partnerships to Improve Quality Education in Remote Nepal.
