Internal Awards

There are a variety of awards, scholarships, and bursaries available to help with tuition. Please note that the information posted below, including award values, are subject to change anytime before a launch of competition.

Entrance Awards are available for competition before studies begin. There are four competitions a year with deadlines that fall on the first day of February, May, August, and November.

In-Course Awards for actively studying students. There are generally four competitions a year with deadlines that fall on the first day of February, May, August, and November. Unless specific application instructions are provided, students submit one one-page essay per competition, addressing eligibility for all of the awards for which they wish to be considered. Be aware that filtering by program below will screen out awards available to all programs. Please start by viewing by "any" program.

Emergency Funding provides modest assistance for unforeseen critical financial need.

Convocation Awards are determined by GPA, faculty or peer nomination.

This award is given to a female applicant demonstrating financial need who is a member of one or more of the following groups: lesbian, single mother, woman of colour, person with a disability.

Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation
Medal
Recognizes one student in November who excelled in their studies and contributed to life of their institution or community during post-secondary study, rewarding one or more of these activities: inclusion, democracy, and reconciliation

This funding is meant to provide assistance those that, despite their best efforts “life happens”, and an unforeseen challenge gets in the way of the ability to continue in their program.

Competitive grants of $8,000 available to students whose work integrated learning (WIL) component of at least 420 hours focuses on environmentally sustainable tourism.

This scholarship assists a student enrolled in a Leadership program at RRU who has reasonable financial need and shows a dedication to the program through adversity.

This funding seeks to create opportunities for BC women, particularly for single mothers,or recent immigrants, or Indigenous or Metis women, or women with a disability.

For a graduate or undergraduate graduating from the School of Environment and Sustainability aimed to encourage sustainability learning.

This bursary recognizes the importance of assisting Indigenous student with facilitating their continued learning leading to post-secondary degrees when they are faced with exceptional financial difficulties.
