Internal Awards

There are a variety of awards, scholarships, and bursaries available to help with tuition. Please note that the information posted below, including award values, are subject to change anytime before a launch of competition.

Entrance Awards are available for competition before studies begin. There are four competitions a year with deadlines that fall on the first day of February, May, August, and November.

In-Course Awards for actively studying students. There are generally four competitions a year with deadlines that fall on the first day of February, May, August, and November. Unless specific application instructions are provided, students submit one one-page essay per competition, addressing eligibility for all of the awards for which they wish to be considered. Be aware that filtering by program below will screen out awards available to all programs. Please start by viewing by "any" program.

Emergency Funding provides modest assistance for unforeseen critical financial need.

Convocation Awards are determined by GPA, faculty or peer nomination.

Daniel James Frazer Bursary
$1,500 renewable
One bursary offered to a graduate-level student each year, either as a new or a renewed bursary, to recognize work with an NGO and to provide consistent support and encourage timely completion of study.

To recognize an MAPC or MAIIC graduate who demonstrated excellence of scholarship in either written or non-traditional thesis or research study

$3,000 per year for 4 years
This initiative is designed to support Doctor of Social Sciences students research related to Indigenous or Metis peoples and issues.

$10,000 renewable
Available to entering Doctoral cohorts prior to the start of their program.

$10,000, renewable for one additional year
Renewable scholarships for Doctoral students to support the research phase of the program and to encourage the timely completion of study.

Dr. Barry Maber Memorial Award
$1,000
For second year MA in Conflict Analysis and Management students with an interest in expanding his/her understanding of the role that conflict plays within the healthcare field.

$500
Established to provide financial support to Masters of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication (MAEEC) students attending or presenting at conferences or extracurricular events related to their learning at RRU.

Peer nominated. Presented at November convocation to the undergraduate student who has made the greatest contribution to student life at Royal Roads University.

Up to $2,000
This bursary is intended to address critical financial need outside the regular cycle of awards to a maximum of $2,000 for students actively enrolled in the second half of their program, pending availability of funding.
