Eric Boynton is a police officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service in Ontario assigned to recruitment. With a background in front-line policing, including in specialty branches such as Community Oriented Response and Enforcement, Criminal Intelligence and Guns and Gangs, Boynton has participated in a wide range of policing in his community. His previous military service as an officer with the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve adds to his desire to understand conflict dynamics not only locally, but also nationally and internationally. He holds a Master of Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Waterloo (2017) and travelled to Israel/Palestine during his graduate studies to gain a better understanding of the conflict dynamics there. He volunteers in his community through the police force as well as with a local CrossFit Kids program. In his doctoral studies, Boynton hopes to delve into how a diverse and inclusive police service can contribute to building bridges and creating a safer, more vibrant community.
