Step 5: Candidates are Identified for Selection

The hiring department determines if candidates have met or not met the essential and other merit criteria.

Step 6: Candidates are Notified

Candidates are notified of the outcome of their assessments and whether or not they have met the essential and other merit criteria. Such notification may include a job offer. In other situations, such as the creation of an inventory, candidates are advised that they will be placed into an inventory for later appointment.

Step 7: Candidates are Appointed

The hiring manager and / or Human Resources personnel identify who will be appointed.
