Ms. Ida Goodreau

As the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LifeLabs, Ms. Goodreau led Canada’s largest provider of community laboratory services in the delivery of more than 50 million laboratory tests to over 10 million Canadians and 20,000 physicians, annually.

Ms. Goodreau joined LifeLabs from Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), one of Canada’s largest healthcare organizations, where since 2002 she was President and CEO. In this role, she was responsible for delivering complex health services to over 1.1 million people, through a network of 21,000 employees, 13 hospitals and 9,000 acute, rehabilitation and residential beds.

Prior to joining VCH, Ms. Goodreau held senior leadership roles in several Canadian and international pulp and paper companies, including BC’s Fletcher Challenge Canada, where she led operational and market strategies that improved the company’s global positioning. She began her career in Ontario, as Vice-President, Human Resources for Union Gas, where she implemented world-class human resource practices.

A native of southwestern Ontario, Ms. Goodreau has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Windsor. She sits on a number of corporate boards and has led and supported the efforts of community, business and advisory groups focused on improving health services, including: The Conference Board of Canada, Leaders’ Roundtable on Health Human Resources; the Richard Ivey Health Sector Advisory Council; the Western Canada Health CEO Forum; and the United Way.
