Mr. Lyall Knott QC

Mr. Knott is a Senior Partner with Clark Wilson LLP’s Business Law Group.
Born and raised in Vancouver, he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce (’71) and Bachelor of Laws (’72) and graduated from the University of London, England with a Master of Laws (’73). In 1985 he was appointed to the rank of Queen’s Counsel. In 1993 Mr. Knott was named as Honourary Consul for the Republic of Tunisia in British Columbia and continues to serve as a member of the Consular Corps of British Columbia.
Active in the community, Mr. Knott is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Rick Hansen Foundation. a past Chair of Canada Place Corporation and Chair of the UBC Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of both S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the CH.I.L.D. Foundation and is a founding director of the Vancouver International Airport Authority.
Mr. Knott is an Honorary Member, The Naval Officers Association of British Columbia, and Honourary Captain (N) of the Canadian Fleet Pacific, Canadian Maritime Defense Force (Canadian Navy). Mr. Knott is a past Chair of the Friends of HMCS VANCOUVER and serves as a member of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council. He is a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade, Vancouver Club and Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.
In 2000, the UBC Alumni Association recognized Capt(N) Knott with the Blythe Eagles Volunteer Service Award for his contribution to the Association and in 2002 he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal that was awarded to Canadians “who have made significant contributions to their fellow citizens, their community, and Canada”.
