Science Transfer Agreement
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Royal Roads University.
This memorandum of understanding constitutes an agreement between Royal Roads University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). The participating academic units at the respective institutions are the School of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Roads University (RRU) and the Faculty of Science and Horticulture at KPU.
1. Objective of the Agreement
Royal Roads University agrees to facilitate the block transfer of students from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with appropriate prerequisite qualifications into the third year of the Bachelor of Science degree programs at RRU.
By this agreement, applicants from Kwantlen Polytechnic University who meet the requirements outlined below will be eligible for admission to RRU with full block transfer, provided all other entrance criteria are met and space remains available in the Bachelor of Science programs. Entrance to all programs at RRU is on a competitive basis.
Successful completion of the:
- Diploma of Technology in Environmental Protection;
- Associate of Science Degree with at least two courses in each of Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.
2. Conditions of the Partnership
The conditions of partnership include:
- KPU making information of this agreement available to its students;
- RRU providing KPU students who hold the course profile set out above acceptance into the third year of the Bachelor of Science programs at RRU, provided all other entrance criteria are met and space remains available in the Bachelor of Science programs;
- RRU to notify KPU with as much lead time as possible of any changes anticipated or approved to the Bachelor of Science requirements.
3. Liaison
Implementation of this agreement will be through the Registrar's Office at each institution, in consultation with the appropriate authorities in the respective programs.
4. Term of the Agreement
This agreement shall be in place for a period of five years commencing 1 September 2009 and is subject to renewal at the end of the five years.
RRU reserves the right to terminate the agreement or to alter the conditions of admission with cause. Should RRU do so, it will provide KPU with sufficient time to respond or alter its conditions accordingly.
Royal Roads University retains the right to limit the number of students admitted annually under this agreement.
