Cindy-Anne Naylor, MA in Conflict Analysis and Management
J. Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada
Naylor’s research is examining the Yukon First Nation Land Claim and Self-Government Agreements. Interviewing the Agreement drafters, negotiators, implementers, elders, and youth, she is combining experiential knowledge from historical documentation and archived interviews that asked “what was wanted” from the Agreements and present day interviews asking the same individuals the same questions more than 15 years later.
Investigating transformation of conflict throughout the treaty process from 1971 to present day will add greater depth of understanding regarding the negotiation and implementation of these Agreements.
