BCom in Entrepreneurial Management (Tourism and Hospitality Specialization)
Starting in September of 2010, the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program will also be offered with a specialization in Tourism and Hospitality.
The Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management (Tourism and Hospitality Specialization) will respond to industry’s need for business professionals with relevant, applied skills in tourism and hospitality. The specialized curriculum builds on the ‘Foundations in Business’ first year of the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program by providing an entrepreneurial perspective useful for leading and managing a broad range of tourism and hospitality operations, including hotels and resorts, tour companies, food and beverage operations, destination management companies, and attractions.
The Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program start dates will remain unchanged.
Please note that the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management with a specialization in tourism and hospitality program's September offering is dependent on sufficient enrolment.
Who it's for
This new tourism and hospitality specialization is suited to culinary, hospitality and tourism diploma graduates, and students who have successfully completed the foundation year in the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management. In addition, this program is also suitable for people who have a minimum of three years work experience.
Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for admission may be assessed on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Admission Policy.
Outcomes
Graduates of this program will have a broad range of technical, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, together with a firm grounding in the business of tourism and hospitality management. The approved learning outcomes for the program are:
