Research at RRU
Learning - Innovation - Sustainability

RRU’s research activity emphasizes the synergy between the university’s applied research model and its applied and professional degree programs. The applied research model has been designed to complement the professional outcomes-based educational model and to advance the university’s mandate to respond to labour market needs of British Columbia, Canada and the World.

The University's strategic research themes reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the academic programs. These themes are learning and innovation, and sustainable communities and societies. The research realm, ranging from peer-reviewed research to consulting, establishes and enhances the critical link between the research endeavour and the learning provided students. Equally as important is that the research becomes an activity that can satisfy key stakeholders – students, policymakers, and the broader public.
